CFMOTO MOTORCYCLES

Choosing the right motorcycle starts with how you plan to ride. Consider where you’ll ride most often, how much performance you want, the riding position you find comfortable, whether you’ll regularly carry a passenger or luggage, and whether you plan to stay on paved roads or explore off-road terrain.

CFMOTO offers several motorcycle types to suit different riding styles. PAPIO models are compact and well suited to urban riding, while NAKED motorcycles offer a versatile balance for everyday riding and open-road use. SPORT motorcycles focus on responsive performance and cornering, CUSTOM motorcycles are designed around relaxed cruising, and ADVENTURE motorcycles are built to combine on-road riding with mixed-terrain capability. Thinking about your typical riding before choosing a motorcycle type can help you find a bike that fits both your needs and your riding style.

Motorcycle types are distinguished by their riding position, handling, design, equipment and intended use. Each category offers a different balance of performance, comfort and versatility.

Mini Street: The PAPIO lineup combines a compact design, upright riding position and light, agile handling for easy maneuverability in urban environments. These mini motorcycles are equipped for city riding, short commutes and everyday use.

Sport: The SS lineup features a forward-leaning riding position, responsive handling and aerodynamic, fully faired designs. These sport bikes use performance-oriented equipment for spirited road riding, acceleration, braking and dynamic cornering.

Naked: The NK lineup combines an upright riding position, agile handling and an exposed, minimalist design. Also known as street or standard motorcycles, naked bikes balance everyday comfort with responsive performance for commuting, urban riding and open-road use.

Cruiser: The CL-C lineup features a relaxed riding position, low-slung design and smooth, composed handling. These cruiser and custom-style motorcycles use comfort-focused equipment for casual rides, city cruising and longer stretches of open road, with a distinctive retro-inspired character.

Adventure: The IBEX lineup combines an upright riding position, adaptable handling and a design suited to paved roads and mixed terrain. These adventure bikes, also known as ADV motorcycles, emphasize comfort, carrying capacity, ground clearance and suspension capability for everyday riding, longer journeys and off-road exploration.

Motorcycle size is not determined by engine displacement alone. The right motorcycle depends on how its horsepower, torque, weight and seat height affect the way it feels and responds on the road.

Engine displacement (cc) gives you an indication of a motorcycle's potential performance. Smaller engines are generally lighter and easier to manage, making them well suited to city riding and shorter trips. Larger engines typically provide more power and torque for highway riding, overtaking, passengers, luggage and longer distances.

Horsepower affects how quickly a motorcycle can build speed and how much performance it has at higher speeds. More horsepower can be useful for highway riding, overtaking and carrying a passenger or luggage, but it may feel more demanding for newer riders.

Weight affects how easy the motorcycle is to balance, steer and move at low speeds or when stopped. A lighter motorcycle is generally easier to handle in parking lots, tight city streets and slow-speed situations, while a heavier motorcycle may feel more stable at highway speeds and provide greater carrying capacity.

Seat height affects how confidently you can place your feet on the ground. A lower seat height can make stopping, starting and maneuvering easier, especially for newer riders or those with a shorter inseam. A taller seat may provide more ground clearance and a more commanding riding position, which can be useful for adventure riding and uneven terrain.

Your riding experience also matters. A smaller, lighter motorcycle with manageable power can help a new rider develop braking, cornering and throttle-control skills with greater confidence. More experienced riders may prefer the additional performance, stability and carrying capacity of a larger motorcycle.

The right motorcycle size is ultimately the one that gives you a comfortable balance of performance, confidence and control.

For urban riding, maneuverability, comfort and ease of handling are especially important. A smaller, agile motorcycle can be easier to navigate through traffic and tight spaces, while an upright riding position can make frequent stops and everyday riding more comfortable.

For compact urban mobility, the PAPIO is a small urban motorcycle that is easy to maneuver and park, making it well suited to shorter commutes and busy city streets. NAKED motorcycles, sometimes referred to as street bikes, offer a versatile balance of agility, comfort and performance for riders who want a motorcycle that works well in the city and beyond. Cruiser motorcycles offer a more relaxed riding experience, while the retro-inspired design of the CL-C makes it a natural choice for riders looking for a retro motorcycle for comfortable city cruising.

Consider your commute, traffic conditions, typical distances and preferred riding style when choosing the best motorcycle for everyday urban riding.

When choosing a motorcycle for highway riding or longer trips, look beyond engine size. Highway performance depends on having enough power for maintaining speed and overtaking, while weight, stability and wind protection can affect how comfortable and confident the motorcycle feels at higher speeds.

For long-distance riding and road trips, consider the riding position, seat comfort, fuel range and ability to carry luggage or a passenger. A more upright riding position can reduce fatigue, while good wind protection and a stable chassis can make longer highway stretches more comfortable. Adventure and other touring-oriented motorcycles are often designed with these longer-distance needs in mind, while some NAKED and CUSTOM motorcycles can also be well suited to highway riding depending on the model and how you plan to travel.

The best highway motorcycle is ultimately one that offers the right balance of performance, comfort, stability and range for the distances and conditions you expect to ride.
