National Sales Manager

Role Purpose

The National Sales Manager – CFMOTO Canada, reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, is responsible for leading national field sales execution through the District Sales Manager (DSM) organization, ensuring that commercial strategies, sales programs, and management-defined priorities are consistently executed across the Canadian dealer network.

The role focuses on execution discipline, dealer performance, coaching, and consistency, serving as the primary operational leader for CFMOTO Canada’s DSM team. The Sales Manager collaborates closely with Marketing, After Sales, Business Operations/BI, Product Management, and Operations to support effective field execution and strong dealer performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Sales Leadership & Execution

  • Lead, coach, and manage the DSM team to ensure consistent execution of national sales plans and retail initiatives.
  • Establish clear expectations for territory coverage, dealer visit cadence, coaching standards, and execution discipline.
  • Hold DSMs accountable for performance, activity levels, and execution quality.

2. Dealer Network Performance

  • Support and improve dealer performance through structured coaching, follow-up, and execution support.
  • Ensure dealers understand and adhere to brand standards, sales processes, and retail expectations.
  • Identify underperforming dealers and implement improvement plans in collaboration with the VP Sales & Marketing.

3. Retail Execution & Program Activation

  • Activate all wholesale and retail programs approved by management.
  • Ensure consistent adoption, compliance, and execution of programs across all regions.
  • Reinforce program clarity with DSMs and dealers and address execution gaps quickly.
  • Provide structured execution feedback to management on program effectiveness and dealer challenges.

4. Territory Planning & Forecasting

  • Work with DSMs to develop territory action plans aligned with national priorities.
  • Interpret reporting tools and dashboards provided by Business Operations / BI.
  • Consolidate DSM forecasts and qualitative insights for review by the VP Sales & Marketing.

5. Dealer Training & Development

  • Ensure DSMs deliver consistent training on product knowledge, sales processes, digital tools, and retail execution best practices.
  • Support national sales meetings, dealer councils, and regional training initiatives.
  • Promote consistent standards to elevate dealer professionalism and customer experience.

6. Issue Resolution & Escalation

  • Address day-to-day dealer and DSM issues with speed, professionalism, and follow-through.
  • Ensure proper documentation and resolution of field issues.
  • Escalate significant dealer performance or relationship issues to the VP Sales & Marketing when required.

7. Field Reporting & Performance Management

  • Ensure DSMs maintain accurate CRM entries, visit reports, dealer action plans, and territory data.
  • Monitor territory KPIs, retail performance, and execution metrics.
  • Provide synthesized insights and execution feedback to management.
  • Lead regular performance reviews with DSMs to track execution quality, dealer performance, and corrective actions.

Profile & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, including leadership of field sales teams.
  • Strong experience managing dealer networks and retail execution.
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and hold sales teams accountable.
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive action.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Canada (50–70%).
  • Preferred Experience: Powersports, automotive, or OEM/distributor environment with a national dealer network.
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred.
  • Experience operating in fast-growing or evolving organizations.
