Canada Motor Imports Inc. (hereinafter called: « CMI ») respects privacy and undertakes to take all necessary means to protect the confidentiality of the personal information it collects in accordance with this personal information confidentiality policy (hereinafter referred to as: « Policy »), as well as the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as well as any other applicable law and regulation.

The Policy explains how CMI processes personal information collected in connection with your activities on its website and with all services offered on the CMI website (hereinafter jointly referred to as: « Electronic Services »).

Also, through the Policy, CMI describes its practices regarding processing personal information, including its collection, use, disclosure, and retention, through its website or by various means of communication, including telephone, fax or other.

By visiting or using our website and communicating with us, you consent to your personal information being used, disclosed, oand retained by the Policy.

WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?

This information identifies you and is confidential, including but not limited to your name, address, and email address.

We collect personal information when you choose to provide it to us when you register for an Electronic Service, for example, when you subscribe to the CMI website or give us feedback.

Also, if you choose to communicate with one of our customer service representatives, we may keep a record of that communication to address the subject matter adequately.

We may also receive personal information from our business partners and other third parties if those third parties confirm that you have authorized them to share this information.

Business contact information such as your company name, address or telephone number is not considered personal information.

CMI only collects personal information that is necessary to achieve the specific purpose.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DOES CMI COLLECT?

CMI collects the following information from you:

  • Your last and first name, billing address, delivery address, email address, language, credit card number and all other related information to process your online purchase request.
  • Your last and first name and email address to send you, our newsletter.

HOW DOES CMI COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

1. Automatic collection

We may automatically receive information when you interact with our website, emails, social media, or other online marketing tools.

We may, among other things, know the domain used to access an Electronic Service, as well as the type and version of the browser or operating system used, your Internet protocol address (IP address), the pages you visit, the date and time you access those pages, and name of the website you left.

Most of the information transmitted automatically between computers does not identify you.

FOR WHAT PURPOSES DOES CMI USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

From time to time, we may use your personal information to notify you of modifications, improvements or similar notices relating to the Electronic Services, or CMI may also use personal information if it has reasonable grounds to believe that the information may be helpful in an investigation.

We may also use your personal information to process the sale of one of our products and everything related to the sale, including the associated guarantees, and send you a newsletter within the framework of contests or even when shopping online.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

CMI undertakes not to transmit your personal information to third parties.

We only disclose your personal information to third parties in the following circumstances: when you have expressly authorized us to disclose your personal information for a designated purpose, where third parties acting on our behalf as authorized persons or suppliers of goods or services, but only to enable us to provide you with electronic services more efficiently. LINKS TO OTHER SITES AND ADVERTISING

An Electronic Service may contain links to other websites and services. Although we try to ensure that these links are only to sites and services that share our standards and rigorous respect for privacy, we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices or the privacy practices of other companies or websites. The Policy only applies to our Electronic Services.

SECURITY

The security of your personal information is important to us. CMI takes technical, contractual, administrative, and material security measures to protect the personal information you provide us. We ask our employees who have access to your personal information to use it only by the principles set out in the Policy and applicable laws. Your personal information is kept in a controlled and secure environment. In some cases, such as when you provide us with credit card information, we help protect that information during transmission using the industry-standard SSL encryption protocol.

You can help protect the security of your personal information, too. For example, never disclose your password to anyone since this password allows access to your account registration information. Also, remember to log out and close the browser window when you finish using an Electronic Service or browsing the web so that other people using the same computer cannot access your information.

DESTRUCTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

CMI retains your personal information only for as long as necessary and in accordance with its legal obligations, according to a destruction schedule. Following this, personal information is permanently destroyed or anonymized, but only for serious and legitimate reasons, following our data destruction procedure.

It is also possible that your data may be destroyed by a third party responsible for permanently destroying data on reusable or non-reusable digital media.

From time to time, CMI may change its policy. Please check the policy regularly for updates.

YOUR RIGHTS RELATING TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You can ask CMI by emailing the following email address: [email protected], to the attention of the person responsible for the protection of personal information, that your personal data incomplete or inaccurate be rectified, or that your personal data be destroyed or that they should no longer be used in certain circumstances, partially or in full, or to obtain a copy of your personal information, subject to payment of a sum of money.

You can also withdraw your consent to collecting and using your personal information.

The person responsible for protecting personal information will analyze and respond to your request within 30 days.
