Confidentiality and personal information

CFMOTO Canada (hereinafter referred to as the “CFMOTO”) respects the privacy of all its users and is committed to protecting such privacy in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy explains how CFMOTO processes your personal information, collected in relation with your activities on, or related to, all CFMOTO websites referring to this Privacy Policy, and all services made available on such web sites (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Electronic Services”).

This Privacy Policy also explains how you can ask questions and make suggestions about our practices regarding to privacy, and review or update your personal information. We urge you to read this Privacy Policy carefully and to check it back frequently, since this Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time. Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies or websites which are not owned or controlled by CFMOTO.

INFORMATION COLLECTED

While processing Electronic Services, we may collect two types of information about our users: personal information and non-personal information.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Business contact information such as the name or telephone number of your company is not considered personal information.

Non-personal information is information of an anonymous nature, such as your Internet Protocol Address (IP Address), the domain you may have used to access An Electronic Service, the type and version of browser or operating system you may be using, and the website you may have come from and visit next. Aggregate information, such as demographic statistics of our users (e.g., average age or geographical allocation of our users), number of visitors and average time spent on an Electronic Service, is also considered non-personal information.

Non-Personal Information is collected or obtained while operating the Electronic Services. For example, our Web servers may automatically collect non-personal information which is provided through your browser or stored on a cookie or through a web beacon when you choose to visit an Electronic Service. While we try to ensure that these links only refer to sites and services that share our high standards and respect for privacy, please understand that we are not responsible for their content or practices relating to privacy. This Privacy Policy is only applicable to Electronic Services referring to this Policy.

SECURITY

The security of your personal information is important to us. CFMOTO takes technical, contractual, administrative, and physical security steps to protect personal information you provide us. We instruct our employees with access to your personal information that it is to be used only in adherence with the principles set forth in this Privacy Policy, and the laws applicable to each specific business.

In some cases, such as when you provide us with credit card information, we work to help protect the security of your credit card information during transmission by using industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.

You can help protect the security of your personal information as well. For instance, never give out your password, since this is what is used to access your profile or account. Also remember to sign out and close your browser window when you finish using an Electronic Service or surfing the Web, so that other people using the same computer won’t have access to your information.
